The entities involved in SAPHeIN will work to promote the dematerialization of commercial documents exchanged between hospitals and their suppliers.
Saphety, a Sonae group company specialized in electronic document exchanges and data synchronization between companies, following its application approval for the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program in Telecom, invited 26 entities to participate in the SAPHeIN project of the CEF Telecom.
The CEF Telecom, a program focused on the adoption and facilitation of electronic invoicing at European level, aims to promote the adoption of Community Directive 2014/55/EU and to prepare the implementation of the new Euro-standard on electronic invoicing, published in 2017, and has a budget of around 300 million euros, which represents part of the 1.04 billion euros budget that the European Union will allocate by 2020 to boost trans-European digital services and which aims to create a common interoperable standard.
The SAPHeIN project, focused on the health sector, exists to promote the dematerialization of commercial documents (orders, delivery notes and invoices) exchanged between hospitals and their suppliers. This project is promoted by a consortium that involves Saphety, as the leader and provider of the EDI & Electronic Invoicing solution, six of the biggest Portuguese public hospitals (Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Central, Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte, Centro Hospitalar do Porto, Centro Hospitalar São João and Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca) and one of the biggest hospitals in Spain (Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid). All the members of the project are already prepared to implement the solution.
The project should be completed until August 2018 and is a pioneer in promoting the adoption of the electronic invoicing solution by the network of hospital providers. In addition to the members of the consortium, the project aims to implement the EDI network in 26 suppliers, thus, making them an integral part of the pilot projects implemented in the hospitals.
